Episode 2

Emily and Jen Prior: the power of inclusion

  • Duration: 30 minutes

  • Released: 18 October, 2018

When Emily Prior was eight years old she asked her mum why nobody in magazines looked like her. This sparkling girl had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a condition which affects the way she moves.

Emily’s mum, Jen, knew her daughter didn’t fit the typical look sought by advertisers. So, she asked Emily if she wanted to change that.

Three years on, Emily has made big brands shift. She has championed the need to include children with disabilities, rather than pretend they don’t exist.

But the fight isn’t over. This mother daughter team has a new target. Let’s have a good chat with Emily and Jen Prior, a girl and woman to inspire my daughter.
